charming pub stay
building age local ales hearty food snug bar
i found no attempt to hide the building's age and history and i considered it a plus. the pub was like it served the local community for centuries. the food was simple and hearty and the snug bar felt comfortable. there were also excellent local ales available.
the single beds seemed a bit narrow and the mixer tap shower temperature was tricky to adjust.

the large clean room featured an excellent shower and adequate heating. the staff supplied heaters due to the unconventional heating system making for a comfortable stay despite it being an older hotel.

the staff proved lovely and helpful catering to a group of ten for a wedding. breakfast stood out as very good tasty and good value. the staff ensured the beer was well kept and served at an ideal temperature.

great location friendly staff quality food tired bathroom cold shower loud noise
The location was great for a nearby wedding. The staff were FRIENDLY and very accommodating. The food had quality. I loved the platters served in the restaurant.
The bathroom felt a little tired. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. It was pretty noisy until the early hours, with some banging and loud guests.

peeling wallpaper noticeable mold
staff were friendly enough.
the room was quite cold. dampness was evident with wallpaper peeling. there was noticeable mold around the windows.
